Our Once Trusted Media Was Turned

One of the most explosive stories to emerge over the last week is the admission by Chief CNN News Executive Eason Jordan that CNN effectively misreported the facts of the Iraq situation in order to please Saddam and thereby insure CNN's access to the story. According to a report last fall by Franklin Foer, Jordan's revelation is just the tip of an iceberg that promises to sink the already damaged credibility of the western press. Will the next shoe to drop have anything to do with the one-sided coverage of the West Bank?

Many of the world's authoritarian regimes--North Korea, Myanmar, Iran--use similar methods to control foreign journalists. But in those less newsworthy countries, American media organizations don't play along nearly as much.

Bet on it.
