Hitchens: "There Needs To Be A Civil War Within Judaism"

Reading Tim Russert's recent interview with Andrew Sullivan and Christopher Hitchens, you've got to wonder how the latter fellow is passing as a neoconservative.

In the brief excerpt below, Hitch displays a bad case of Oslo amnesia, an even worse case of secular parochialism, an implicit contempt for Judaim's holiest places, and the same level of moral talent that leads most Brits to favor the Arabs over their numerous victims.

After all, more than half of American Jews and more than half of Israeli Jews always favor a two-state solution that grants self-determination for Palestinians. They just can't get their way because of this nutcase zealot minority.. There has to be a civil war within Judaism, if you like, and there is one going on in Islam very clearly and the fanatic side wants to export that war to where we live to try and win it. So they've really involved us in their war.

Sorry Chris, but the indigenous people of the West Bank were calling the place Judea long before the Europeans came and conquered it, exiled its inhabitants, and renamed it Palestina. More recently, your delightful Chuchill took a turn at carving this turkey by slicing off its eastern three quarters, renaming that part Jordan, and praying for oil.
