Rounding Up The Hate Mongers

Today's arrest in Austria of British "historian" David Irving is the kind of anti-hate policing that the (pending) Racial and Religious Hate Bill may soon permit in the UK. After the bill passes, we hope that the spotlight will quickly fall on the Anglican Church whose priests regularly indulge in the most heinous judeocidal invective.

Take Stephen Sizer for example (pictured), the Vicar of Virginia Water and Christendom's foremost proponent of neo-supercessionism.

Led by Sizer, Christian neo-supercessionists are trying to delegitimize the State of Israel the old-fashioned way - by delegitimizing Judaism. (Unsurprisingly, "neosups" are also attacking fellow Christians who support the Jewish state including the vast majority of American Protestants.)

To discredit Judaism, Sizer and his legions have armed themselves with some of Christendom's oldest and most repugnant anti-Jewish dogma, the theological equivalent of weapons of mass destruction, starting with the imperial church doctrine that the arrival of the Christian messiah nullified God's covenant with the Jewish people (heretofore the central theme of the Bible) together with the right of the Jews to live in their God-given homeland, Israel. What the Bible called Zion, Judea and the Land of Israel, would henceforth be the "Christian Holy Land."

So much for the national rights of indigenous populations.

But this isn't the BBC, after all. It's Christian replacement imperialism, arguably the urtext for the imperial rampages that Islamists and European Christianists have conducted ever since. What the rest of us call cultural genocide, the good vicar spins this way:

"In the Old Testament, God chose the Jewish people as a light to the people. Reformed or theological Christianity -- Calvin, Luther, covenant theologians -- would say that the Jewish people as a community rejected Jesus, and in rejecting the king, they forfeited the right to a kingdom. It's Matthew 5: meekness, humility, penitence, and faith are preconditions for God's blessing. The land promises we find in the Hebrew verses are no longer relevant. That temple has been superceded. I would put the land alongside the sacrificial system, the dietary laws, the ceremonial laws. Over that bonfire, I'd quote Hebrews 8:13 ['In speaking of a new covenant he treats the first as obsolete']. You cannot have two covenants. The Old Testament-New Testament is a one-way street."

Needless to say, the problem of religious imperialism goes beyond the unrepentant Anglican Church to Euro-christianist scripture which remains unrevised five decades after the Eurocaust. According to the respected UK columnist, Melanie Phillips:

"Christians told me that the anti-Jewish animosity and bigotry coming out in Sunday sermons was running at a very high level so that the ordinary person in the pew was imbibing a great deal of anti-Jewish feeling that had nothing to do with the situation in Israel. And then I talked to a number of people who expressed a visceral hatred of Israel based on a fantastic misrepresentation of facts and history and they linked it all to this idea that the Jews had been replaced at some level in the affections of God.

...Even though Britain is a relatively non-religious place, nevertheless the culture is suffused by it -- all its institutions, history, and literature are rooted in Christian values. While that's had enormously beneficial effects, one of the byproducts is that the anti-Jewish feeling is embedded in the culture. And since the Holocaust, there's a kind of subconscious desire to find a way of putting Jews in the worst light so the Jews can no longer claim to be the victims of church hatred."

London had better set aside enough prison cells. Whether they will be used for Anglican hate-mongers or for another generation of Judean exiles, the British will soon determine.

Update: Check out Anglicans for Israel.
